The article I have read was about the survival of the animals that have an innate trait of altruistic behavior that is helping others without any driven motive to get anything in return. In this article, the author has provided an example of the altruistic behavior of a middle size dog who raised three cubs along with her other puppies (de Waal, 2001). The biologist called this altruistic behavior as the kindness towards one’s kin is often viewed as a genetic disposition that is assisting kin by coming close to help others. In the textbook, we read about the process of natural selection and the genetic disposition of traits that helps to survive and reproduce in the environment (Kottak, 2022).
